Hey guys,
So, Ive been meaning to talk about this for a while, but due to circumstances I haven't been able to say anything.
However I literally can not control myself anymore!
I am engaged to the most wonderful woman on this planet, and that is the truth.
On the 4th of August 2015 at around18:00 the love of my life, Ariel, proposed to me in the most romantic way possible.
All you ladies know that the way to a man's heart is through his stomach and I am no exception, but after an emotionally charged week, Ariel flew down to Cape Town and baked the words, "Gareth, Marry me" into a banana tart, which tasted amazing btw.
Ofc I said yes and now she is in the process of moving to China so we can work, and travel together along with our two wonderful friends, Nonto, and Beth.
During these following weeks, we have only gotten closer together, and she continues to amaze, and surprise me every day.
I could not be luckier if I had married an angel!
She is smart, funny, crazy(like me), caring, emotional, kind, loving, sexual, attentive, and absolutely gorgeous. Her soul shines out of her face, and I miss her so much and can't wait to see her again.
She challenges me to become better, and is patient with my fumbling cluelessness.
I want her to know that she means the world to me and I feel priveledged that she chose me as her husband to be.
I want the world to know how happy I am.
I pray that those of you who wish to have a partner, get a best friend like I have received.
Ariel, I am looking forward to our future, it's gonna be perfect babe!

Moving forward
Hey guys,
Well I've made a decision today, I'm not looking back anymore.
A lot of stuff has happened to me in my personal life since I came to China, some painful and some were wonderful, and they have changed me in ways I can't even articulate yet.
So I'm going to start afresh and while it means I won't post as often as I wanted to, I am only going to do this when something worth talking about happens.
In the last few weeks I've been teaching (obviously) and learning more about what it takes to be a good teacher, I am now doing extra work on my Mondays off at a primary school. It is so different to my classes at Giraffe and I love it! I've been singing live at a bar with a new friend Conroux and met some amazing people besides - Michelle, Arista, Daneel and Danelle, Mike, and a host of others! I've been to KTV's, clubs, onto the wall of the city and to new restaurants.
I've fallen unashamedly in love and been filled again with a longing to travel and see new things.
It's almost that time of year and I have been asked to host our year end awards with Laya. It will be a pleasure to host with her again but this means we have already started working on our script and we need to go look for clothing to fit me again lol.
If there is anything you guys would like to know about this part of China or my work here then please let me know and I'll do my best to answer it.
In the meantime, enjoy your life one day at a time and never stop dreaming!

Park adventures
Hey guys,
Sorry for the delay, things are super busy and I'm trying to remember all that has happened in order. I was saving this on my phone while I waited to get my blog started but my phone crashed a few weeks back and I lost everything.
Just wanted to talk about the cool things I have seen in Xian since being here.
One of these is the many beautiful parks around the city. Giliam's friend John took me for a day in the park on my day off and it is such a beautiful and relaxing atmosphere.
It is the South Lake park and is beautifully lush. We walked around and talked about women lol. Eventually I would join John and his friend Avril in their running group which runs around this park
Giliam's friend Emily came from Beijing to visit and so we also did some sightseeing things with her, walking around the Muslin street and visiting old temples, of which there are plenty in Xian.
All in all a fascinating and ancient city with much beauty
We had a delightful day and I must say I am really enjoying my time here
